The second Major tournament of the 2022 R6 season, Six Berlin Major 2022 is starting next week with 16 teams fighting. This event will be the first Major Rainbow Six Siege event in Germany since 2017 and the first R6 event with a live audience in Europe since 2019. R6 arena missed Europe for sure, and it will be great to catch up with the audience finally.

16 teams around the world arrived in Berlin to participate in Six Berlin Major, where they will fight for a share of the $500,000 prize pool. The winner will get $200,000 while everyone is guaranteed to get at least $5,000. In addition to that, they will fight for SI global points which will help them get to Six Invitational 2023.

Six Berlin Major 2022 Group A

In Group A, DAMWON Gaming from APAC League North, Ninjas in Pyjamas from Copa Elite Six, Rogue from European League and XSET from North American League will clash. Copa Elite Six third place and Six Sweden Major #2 Ninjas in Pyjamas will still be the favourite, even though their recent performances have been disappointing ever since they were eliminated early in Six Invitational 2022.

DAMWON Gaming recently participated in Gamers8 2022 and was the only team to move on to Six Berlin Major from that event, and were eliminated without winning a single match. Rogue managed to finish top four in Six Sweden Major together with DAMWON, and XSET finished top eight in a more recent tournament, Six Charlotte Major. XSET and Rogue may have a better chance of topping the group than DAMWON.

Six Berlin Major 2022 Group B

In Group B, Copa Elite Six winner FaZe Clan, European League #4 G2 Esports, North American League #2 Soniqs and APAC League North #2 SANDBOX Gaming will participate. FaZe Clan’s championship at Six Sweden Major and third place finish at Six Invitational 2022 is not forgotten: they will enter Six Berlin Major as one of the favourites.

G2 Esports will be participating in a Major for the second time after missing SI22 with their top eight finish in Charlotte being encouraging. With similar performances in Six Sweden Major 2021, we would expect Soniqs and SANDBOX to stay out of the top two battle in the group, but Soniqs has an advantage of top six finish in SI22. They could bring down G2 Esports with ease.

Six Berlin Major 2022 Group C

Group C will witness Gaimin Gladiators from APAC League South, North America League #3 Oxygen Esports, Copa Elite Six runner-up w7m esports and European League champion Wolves Esports. Considering their recent similar international performances which was a disappointment in Charlotte, Wolves and w7m esports are the kind of good teams you want in your group: you could take them down quickly.

Group C is open to surprises, and a top eight finish in SI22 makes Oxygen an excellent candidate for a first place finish. They also went to the semi-finals at Charlotte Major where they were eliminated by Astralis. It looks hard for Gaimin Gladiators to get involved with that fight, but as mentioned earlier, the chances of upset are really high in Group C.

Six Berlin Major 2022 Group D

Finally, Group D has North American champions Astralis, APAC League South champion Elevate, European #3 MNM Gaming and Copa Elite Six fourth place FURIA Esports. Considering their promising local performance and second place finish in Charlotte Major, Astralis is the favourite in Group D.

Although Elevate was able to qualify for the Six Charlotte Major, they couldn’t play, so we aren’t sure of their international strength. However, they were able to make a name for themselves in SI22. FURIA Esports’ form has been dropping for a long time now. Although this will be their first international challenge after SI22, MNM Gaming might be a better rival for Elevate for the second place.
