The group stage of NeXT 2021 S2 – SC2 Masters has come to an end. On December 6, the playoffs will begin. Eight teams that are successful in their groups will meet in the quarterfinals.

How did the group stage end?

The most successful players in the group stage were Zoun, Serral, Clem and Zest. Classic, Lambo, RagnaroK and Dark were the names that made it to the playoffs with one loss. There will be four Zerg, three Protoss and one Terran in the playoffs. Of course, the low number of Terrans has something to do with the fact that there were three Terrans in group C.

NeXT 2021 S2 – SC2 Masters playoff matches

Zoun - Lambo (December 6 - 12:00 CET)
Clem - Dark (December 6 - 13:30 CET)
Classic - Serral (December 7 - 12:00 CET)
RagnaroK - Zest (December 7 - 13:30 CET)

It is almost certain that we will see a great Protoss vs. Zerg rivalry in the Zoun vs. Lambo match. Although it is difficult to predict the victor in the match between Dark and Clem, we can say that Dark is one step ahead. Considering that Serral is one of the favorite players of the tournament, there is no need to say who the favourite is in the matchup of Classic and Serral. Zest seems to be one step ahead in the RagnaroK and Zest match; however, RagnaroK will not give up the semifinals easily.

With the end of the quarterfinals of the playoffs, the semifinals will be with us on December 8th. The grand finals and the third place decider match will be on December 9th.
