There's yet another CS:GO tournament coming up on the horizon, as we get ready to return once again to Brazil, for this year's IEM Rio!

IEM Rio 2023 dates and format

IEM Rio 2023 is due to run from April 17 to April 23, kicking off with the Group Stage. During this stage, the sixteen participating teams will be split evenly into two groups of 8. Both Group A and B will then take part in a double-elimination bracket, where all matches will be decided under the best-of-three rule, with the exception of the best-of-one opening matches.

At the end of the Group Stage, the top three teams from each group will advance on to the Playoffs. The winners from Group A and B will automatically qualify for the Semifinals, while the runners-up will move on to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds. The teams in 3rd place, meanwhile, will participate in the Quarterfinals as the Low Seeds.

Once in the Playoffs running from April 21-23, the remaining six teams will fight it out under a single-elimination bracket. The Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches will be decided under the best-of-three rules, while the Grand Final is a best-of-five match.

IEM Rio 2023 prize pool

The teams at IEM Rio will be competing for their share of the $250,000 prize pool. The winning team will be awarded $100,000, and will automatically qualify for IEM Cologne 2023.

IEM Rio 2023 teams

A total of sixteen teams will be competing at IEM Rio, which will be split into two even groups of eight. Six of the teams participating in the April tournament have been invited due to their ESL partner status, while the rest have earned their spot via their ESL World Ranking or through the various regional qualifiers that took place earlier this year.

How to watch IEM Rio 2023

IEM Rio 2023 is due to take place in the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
