The schedule for the 2022 Spring Final, which will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, on June 15-19, with $425,000 on the line for the eight teams competing, has been released by BLAST.

FaZe, Natus Vincere, OG, Vitality, BIG, G2, paiN and ENCE will compete in the Portuguese capital city for the ultimate prize.

The event will take place at the 15,000-seat Altice Arena, which held a BLAST Pro Series tournament in late 2018 and saw Astralis win at the pinnacle of their reign.

Let’s take a look at how BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022 will play out.

BLAST Premier Spring Final Format

The Spring Final will begin with two groups of four teams, with the best team from each group advancing directly to the semifinals of the event, while the second and third-placed teams must first compete in the quarterfinals. The tournament will be held in a new format this year, as opposed to prior editions which employed a double-elimination bracket.

BLAST Premier Spring Final will only have its semi finals and grand finals played in front of a live audience, unlike many other events that have their whole playoffs played in front of a live audience. The action will be broadcast live from the Altice Arena in Lisbon.

Two double-elimination format (GSL) Groups
Each group has 4 teams
All matches are Bo3
Top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs
Group stage winners advance to the Semifinals
Group stage runners-up advance to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds
Group stage 3rd place teams advance to the Quarterfinals as the Low Seeds

11:00 - FaZe vs. paiN

14:00 - G2 vs. Vitality

BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022 Participating Teams

Between January and February, FaZe, Natus Vincere, OG, Vitality, BIG and G2 BLAST Premier Spring Groups, alongside two teams from the Spring Showdown between April and May; paiN and ENCE.

FaZe

FaZe Clan is the overwhelming favourite to win this tournament. To make matters even better, they should have little trouble in their first match against paIN Gaming, perhaps the worst squad in the tournament.

Brazilian PaIN honestly has no luck in this tournament. They are not even underdogs but pariahs at this point when compared to their peers. Opening match against FaZe, tough luck.

OG

Now this European mix squad is dangerous, they have legendary names on their roster such as flameZ and niko, and they already came second even beating the FaZe to the second stop in the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022.

G2

G2 will face off against Team Vitality in the first round, and with even odds, taking into account the recent low performance of Vitality and G2’s overall meagre results, it could go either way but G2 has certainly trained more in the recent tournaments, making it further than Vitality in their series.

Vitality

Vitality will really need to prove their mettle if they don’t want to be remembered as the fallen stars of CS:GO, recently it shows that even the best of the best ZywoO couldn’t save them.

Natus Vincere

Furthermore, Natus Vincere will not be very predictable, especially after making squad changes only a week ago. They are not the same NAVI they once were, and they just fired their captain Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, over reasons outside of the game that endangered NAVI’s reputation.

Team is expected to lose cohesion after this and their recent marginal performance shows that NAVI might be lost to the annals of history very soon and as quick as they had arrived at the top.

BIG

BIG is considered an underdog in this competition, they are partnered with ENCE in the opening matches and it will be an answer for the what if BIG and ENCE faced off in the IEM Dallas Playoffs.

Last but not least, ENCE is considered a wildcard in this competition. They almost had the IEM Dallas Trophy in their grasp, even defeating FaZe at one point. The fact that they are paired with BIG two teams are partnered in the first game will serve as a testing ground for each of them, and an action-packed contest is predicted.
