The legendary support player Zaqueri "aphromoo" Black has announced his retirement from professional League of Legends play, bringing an end to a career that spans all the way back to 2011.

The announcement came via a video posted to aphromoo's YouTube channel, in which he gave a heartfelt farewell to the LCS and referenced soem of the highlights of his almost 12-year long career.
"I don't think I will be playing League of Legends anymore," aphromoo began, acknowledging that he was not signed with any team going into the 2023 season. He also acknowledged year-long stint with FlyQuest, saying that he had fun with the team, adding that they tried to "make it work out" but it "just didn't happen that way."
"It has been an insane run. [I] really enjoyed my time. I want to especially thank the fans for cheering for me, old and new. I wish I could keep going, but I think it's time. I can go out proud of what I've done in League of Legends, and I had a good time. I had fun."
aphromoo has been playing League of Legends professionally since 2011, starting out in small teams before making a name for himself on the likes of mTw North America and Team FeaR. Since then he has been on the roster for Counter Logic Gaming, with whom he spent a total of four years, as well as playing for the likes of 100 Thieves, Dignitas and finally FlyQuest.
He has been a regular face on the LCS scene, having competed in nearly every split since he joined the league in 2013. In fact, he currently holds the record for the highest number of games played in LCS history, with 597 game under his belt between 2013 and 2022.
As for his future plans, aphromoo revealed his plans to continue streaming on his Twitch channel, though he is resisting setting a full schedule for his streams just yet.
