With the commencement of the VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers Group Stage on March 16, we're in for another week of furious Valorant action in the Asia-Pacific area.
The 16 top Valorant teams from Asia-Pacific compete in the Group Stage. Riot Games' VCT Stage 1 Challengers local qualifications helped 12 teams gain their slots. By progressing through the Play-ins, the remaining four teams were able to enter the Group Stage.
In the Knockouts phase, or what you may think of as the Playoffs, teams will battle for eight slots. After that, the top two teams will compete in VCT Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik 2022.
Format and Group Stage
The top teams from Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, and Australia compete in the multi-regional championship. The VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers Playoffs are split into two parts: the Group Stage and the Knockouts.
In the Group Stage, 12 of the 16 teams competed and placed first or second in their respective local VCT Stage 1 Challengers qualifications. The four teams left are those who advanced from the Play-ins.
From March 16 to 21, the competition will take place.
Four groups have been formed from the 16 teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Knockouts, which will be played in a GSL style.
