Ubisoft is about to reveal a Rainbow Six Siege mobile game in April

According to a report by Tom Henderson at eXputer, Ubisoft will officially announce the mobile version of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege for iOS and Android of the famous multiplayer shooter in April.

To be precise, the official unveiling is scheduled for 6 April 2022.

Rainbow Six Siege Mobile will probably be a stripped-down version of the main game for mobile platforms, similar to Apex Legends Mobile, as opposed to a spin-off like Rainbow Six Extraction. Ubisoft discontinued a popular Rainbow Six Siege-like mobile game called Area F2 in 2021. This could have been a pre-emptive move to get players curious about an official Siege mobile game.

The report also states that Rainbow Six Siege Mobile is being developed by Ubisoft in collaboration with Tencent. Tencent's fourth quarterly report seems to confirm this, as it mentions new "projects with Ubisoft" in 2023. A source speaking to Exputer says that fans of Rainbow Six Siege will "love" the upcoming mobile game, suggesting that the gameplay will not be much different from 2015's multiplayer first-person shooter.

Rumours of a paperback version of Rainbow Six Siege surfaced last year when Ubisoft sent out surveys to mobile gamers asking them how familiar they were with the Rainbow Six Siege brand. Also, another hint surfaced yesterday in the financial data shared by Tencent, talking about "projects with Ubisoft" in the 2023 schedule, so this could be the game's release date.

Some other exciting titles on the way

Tom Henderson explains in another report that DICE has started work on the next Battlefield and that the studio has learned from past mistakes.

Ubisoft's Q1 2022 financial report also mentions an unannounced mobile game due to launch in Q4 2021-2022, which is in line with Exputer's report. Other mobile games the company has in the works include two separate ‘The Division’ games: Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland and Tom Clancy's The Division Mobile. Exputer reports that a new Assassin's Creed mobile game is also in development alongside these games.
