The teams to watch at the BLAST.tv Paris Major

The BLAST.tv Paris Major is now just days away, with the final CS:GO Major due to take place from May 8-21.

The best teams at the BLAST.tv Paris Major

This month's Major will be CS:GO's last time in the spotlight, with Counter-Strike 2 due to replace the game once it launches later this year.

Which makes the BLAST.tv Paris Major even more exciting than ever, with the 24 competing teams fighting for the right to lift the last-ever CS:GO trophy at the May 21 Grand Final.

16 teams will be taking the spotlight for the Challengers Stage, which will open up the Major from May 8-11. Just eight teams will survive to make it through to the Legends Stage (running from May 13-16), where they'll be joined by eight more Legends teams as they fight it out to qualify for the Champions Stage.

With so many teams participating, it's hard to keep track of who has the real potential to make it through the Grand Final - and which teams will be swiftly eliminated. And so to help you out, we're taking a quick look at just five of the most promising teams at the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan are never a team to be underestimated - as they've proven through a sterling 2023 run so far. While the team kicked off the year with a 1st-3rd placement at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023, their highlight of the year came a few months later. In March, FaZe Clan were not only crowned the champions of ESL Pro League Season 17, but by doing so they were awarded with the $1,000,000 Intel Grand Slam bonus prize - the fourth team in CS:GO history to do so. However, they've had a few sour moments this year too - including a recent 9th - 12th placement at IEM Rio 2023. Still, when FaZe is at they're best they're a team to be reckoned with.

Team Vitality

Team Vitality will be heading to Paris on a high note, with the team being fresh from their victory at IEM Rio 2023. Their victory over Heroic in the Rio Grand Final was by far the highlight of Team Vitality's year so far, which kicked off with a 1st - 3rd place result at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023. Things have been a little quiet for the team outside of that, with Team Vitality having ranked in 5th - 6th place at IEM Katowice 2023. Team Vitality have proven themselves to be a dominant force in CS:GO, and the French organisation may be on the verge of celebrating a Major win on their home soil for the first time.

G2 Esports

G2 Esports had perhaps the best possible start to the 2023 season, having not only earned 1st - 3rd place at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023, but also emerged as the champions at IEM Katowice 2023 - defeating Heroic in the Grand Final. While they, unfortunately, followed up on that incredible result with a 9th - 12th placement at ESL Pro League Season 17, G2 have earned themselves a reputation as one of the strongest CS:GO teams on the scene. G2 has otherwise been on top form since their victory at the 2022 BLAST Premier World Final, and they could well be on track to win yet another BLAST tournament.

Heroic

Heroic's position on this list is well earned, with the team recently being ranked as the number one team in CS:GO - according to HLTV. Heroic usurped the previous number-one team, G2 Esports, through a promising 2023 run. While they've yet to claim any tournament victories, they have repeatedly come close - having ranked in second place at both IEM Katowice and IEM Rio this year. The Danish team is due a win - but will that come at the BLAST.tv Paris Major?

Natus Vincere

Ukrainian team Natus Vincere, otherwise known as NAVI, were once an absolutely dominant force in CS:GO, having claimed an absurd number of tournament wins in 2021. Their performance has slipped a bit since then, no doubt not helped by the ongoing war in their home country, but fans remain hopeful that they'll find their way back to their glory days. And their 2023 run so far has been promising, with a handful of 3rd-4th place results at IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League Season 17 and IEM Rio. The team is due a win this year, but will they be able to lift the final CS:GO trophy?
