We now know which eight teams will be heading to Abu Dhabi for the BLAST Premier World Final, due to take place from December 14 to December 18.

OG and Team Liquid were the final two teams to qualify for the tournament, after securing a high enough place on the BLAST Leaderboard.
Traditionally, the winner of the BLAST Fall Finals receives an automatic qualification for the World Final. However this year’s winner Heroic had already qualified, following their victories during the Fall Final’s early stages. With Heroic qualifying alongside G2, there were just two remaining spots on the World Final team list.
OG and Team Liquid were chosen to fill those spots after Ninjas in Pyjamas were eliminated from the Fall Finals, following their 2-1 defeat to FaZe Clan in the semi finals, placing them in 3rd-4th place.
This means that OG, Team Liquid, Heroic and G2 all qualified for this year’s World Final based on their position on the BLAST Leaderboard. It’s worth noting that all four of those teams are partnered with BLAST, with their partnerships giving them an advantage over their non-partnered rivals.
This is because they had more opportunities to earn points by playing at partner-only BLAST Premier Spring and Fall Groups. These events awarded 600 points to each competitor, with an additional 2,400 points being awarded to the teams placed 1st-3rd in each season’s Groups.
Those four teams will be joined by the likes of Outsiders, who earned their spot at the World Final following their victory at the IEM Rio Major, which ended last month. Team Vitality meanwhile earned their spot in Abu Dhabi through their win in October at the ESL Pro League Season 16.
Despite falling short of victory at the Fall Finals, BLAST Spring Finals champions Natus Vincere (NAVI) will also be playing at the World Final, alongside FaZe clan - who earned their spot following their victories at both the ESL Pro League Season 15 and the PGL Major in Antwerp.
The full list of teams heading to the BLAST Premier World Final is as follows:
FaZe Clan | Natus Vincere |
Vitality | Outsiders |
G2 | Heroic |
OG | Team Liquid |
The eight teams will go on to compete in Abu Dhabi for their share of the $1,000,000 prize pool, in a competition taking place from December 14 to December 18.
