The second of the StarLadder Berlin Major quarterfinals brings Vitality vs AVANGAR to the main event, with the winners due to face the victors of ENCE vs Renegades in Thursday's other playoff match.

Vitality vs AVANGAR head-to-head
The teams have met up three times. Vitality won two of the three confrontations 2-1 in the StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7 - European Qualifier in December 2018, 2-0 in their most recent meet-up in ESL One: Cologne 2019 - European Qualifier.
AVANGAR managed to win 2-1 in the ECS Season 7 - European Challenger Cup in between.
Team Vitality's Berlin Major so far
Teams Vitality come from the New Challengers stage where they finished 6th just above AVANGAR. Their defeat against Syman Gaming (Eliminated at New Challengers stage) and Dreameaters (last of the New Legends stage) made them play 5 games to qualify to the New Legends stage. They won against INTZ, HellRaisers (2-0) and Grayhound (2-1) then.
They showed a better display in the New Legends with two early victories against North (16-9) and FaZe (16-7). Their defeat against ENCE (2-0) forced them into a 4th match against mousesports which they won 2-0.
AVANGAR's Berlin Major so far
AVANGAR also comes from the New Challengers stage (7th). Their defeat against mousesports and NRG Esports forced them into a 5-game qualification. They eventually won against eliminated HellRaisers and Syman Gaming to qualify to New Legends.
As Team Vitality, AVANGAR then showed a better display, again finishing right below their opponent of the day (fifth). They had to qualify in four games too because of their early defeat against ENCE which they made up for with 3 victories against Renegades (16-13), Team Liquid (22-18) and G2 Esports (1-2). Two of the three teams they beat earlier are playing the Berlin Major playoff bracket.
Vitality vs AVANGAR betting
The surprise could come from this game. Vitality has show performances against teams that are already eliminated from the Berlin Major and is yet to show a performance against a higher-tier team. Their defeats against Syman and Dreameaters is showing inconsistency in this Berlin Major.
While AVANGAR has gone through all stage already flexing muscles against Liquid and Renegades with close victories. It shows AVANGAR has strong nerves, which could be decisive against a less consistent Vitality.
