Team Vitality is seemingly letting Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen skip out on the upcoming ESL ESL Pro League season, and has registered Audric "JACKZ" Jug in his place.
JACKZ joins Team Vitality as a stand-in player at ESL Pro League Season 17
That's according to HLTV, who reports that an official document shared by the ESL shows JACKZ as being registered with Team Vitality, standing in for dupreeh.
HLTV's sources indicate that this is merely a temporary substitution however, as dupreeh has been on parental leave ever since the end of IEM Katowice 2023, in anticipation of the birth of his child. According to the sources, dupreeh is expected to return to his spot on Team Vitality in time for the BLAST.tv Paris Major Regional Major Ranking event, which will take place in April.
JACKZ is currently an active player on the HEET roster, but his extensive experience with G2 Esports (from 2018-2020 and again from 2021-2022) is bound to be an attractive prospect for Team Vitality.
JACKZ has some impressive performances under his belt too, having been part of the G2 roster that took second place at last year's IEM Katowice, after being defeated 0-3 by FaZe Clan. His time with G2 also saw him as part of the team that took second place at the likes of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, the 2021 IEM Cologne and the 2020 IEM World Championship.
Team Vitality will be eager to make use of that extensive experience as it prepares for ESL Pro League Season 17. The team has had a respectable 2023 season so far, claiming a 1st - 3rd placement at this year's BLAST Premier Spring Groups, and came in 5th - 6th at the recent IEM Katowice. Still, they'll be facing still competition at ESL Pro League Season 17. Team Vitality has been placed in Group C, meaning they could potentially have to face off against the likes of the mighty FaZe Clan.
