Team Liquid bowed out of Worlds 2020 at the group stage after Suning Gaming sealed their place in the quarterfinals with victory over G2.
Team Liquid were left needing a favour from G2 Esports after finishing their six Group A matches with a 3-3 record.
It meant Team Liquid needed a win from G2 Esports to force a tiebreaker match with Suning to decide which team makes it through to the Worlds 2020 playoffs.
But it was not to be, as Suning beat G2 in the best-of-one encounter.
It meant both Suning and G2 ended Group A with 4-2 records and a tiebreaker was needed to determine the group winners.
The tiebreaker match would give esports fans another chance to unlock a free CS:GO bet as part of Luckbox's Worlds 2020 Free Bet Festival.
Thanks for the support
Team Liquid tweeted: "Thank you for your support in 2020. Despite losing in Groups, we’re proud of the immense progress the team has made, from our initial struggles in Spring to the drastic changes we’ve seen this week. We didn’t get the results we expected but we still played our hearts out today."
