Here we are with the best teams of VALORANT in VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík. 12 teams in total gave their best to reach this stage and now, they will put in more effort to win the tournament.

In the end, one team will have seed to VALORANT Champions of 2022. Let’s take a look at how groups are shaped and what the teams will offer to us.

FunPlus Phoenix situation

Before talking about the tournament, we would like to inform you about the situation of FunPlus Phoenix. As we have mentioned before, they have completed VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 1 Challengers as the first team will not be attending the Masters due to travel restrictions in Ukraine and Russia. For that reason, they got 200 circuit points and $25,000.

Format

So far, here are all the things you need to know about how Masters:

Group Stage:

  • 8 Low Seed teams
  • Each group has 4 teams
  • All matches are Bo3
  • Top two teams from each group advance to the Playoffs

Playoffs:

  • Double-Elimination bracket
  • 8 teams, 4 High Seeds and 4 Qualified teams
  • All matches (excluding Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final) are Bo3
  • Lower Final and Grand Final are Bo5

Group A

These are the four teams that made it till Masters in Group A:

Fnatic

Ninjas in Pyjamas

DRX

ZETA DIVISION

First team we see in the group is EMEA Challengers qualifier Fnatic. Checking their group performance on VCT: EMEA, they have completed as the only unbeaten team in the group and advanced to the playoffs. They finished the tournament as the third team by losing against G2 Esports in the Losers’  Bracket Final.

LATAM vs BR Playoffs winner Ninjas in Pyjamas is another team of Group A Masters. They have lost to LOUD in VCT: Brazil Grand Finals but had the chance to go for Masters by beating Leviatán in the South America playoffs.

DRX is joining Group A from VCT: Korea. The team performed incredibly well on their Challengers step and got the chance of advancing to Masters with only one loss from the group stages.

ZETA DIVISION is the fourth team of Group A and also VCT: Japan Challengers winner. It is hard to say that they will have enough strength to deal with the experienced VALORANT teams and rosters but they still made a big step by coming to Masters.

Group B

Group B of VCT 2022: Masters will be like this:

OpTic Gaming

XERXIA

KRÜ Esports

Team Liquid

OpTic Gaming joined the Masters by coming till the Grand Finals of VCT: NA. Losing against The Guard, they competed as the second team and still found a chance to fight in Masters. Their team is showing potential so they may find a way to show it in a global arena.

XERXIA is a Thai esports organization which joined the Masters from APAC Challengers. As a format, top two teams of the tournament will be attending the Masters so even though they did not win in the Grand Finals, they advanced to Masters.

Argentine organization KRÜ Esports is joining the Masters by winning LATAM Challengers. The team completed the tournament from Lower Bracket and won in the Grand Final. They did lots of things last year on VCT so we can expect more in Masters.

Team Liquid will be the fourth team of Group B in Masters. As we have mentioned earlier, FunPlus Phoenix will not be attending the Masters. As a replacement, Team Liquid had the chance to join instead of FunPlus Phoenix. This may be a miracle for them which they don’t want to miss.

First matches of VCT: Masters will be held on March 11. If you have an interest in betting to the VALORANT teams, you can bet easily and safely with Luckbox to the upcoming matches of Masters.
