Skadoodle retires: Tributes to Cloud 9's 'legend' of CSGO

Fans, pundits and fellow players have paid tribute to a "legend" after Cloud 9's Skadoodle announced his decision to "take a break" from CSGO.

The 25-year-old American - real name Tyler Latham - is regarded as one of the greatest North American AWPers to play CS and leaves C9 after three and a half years with the org.

His departure comes in the same year he helped them win the ELEAGUE Major in Boston, where he was named MVP.

He is the embodiment of North American Counter-Strike

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Skadoodle said: "I am taking a break from competitive CSGO. I would like to thank the fans and Cloud9 for their support these past years and I wish the CSGO team the best of luck."

C9 CEO and owner Jack Etienne said: "I could talk about what Skadoodle has meant to Cloud9 for years and it still wouldn’t be enough.

"He is the embodiment of North American Counter-Strike and his break is beyond well-deserved. We’re grateful to have him in the Cloud9 family and look forward to whatever comes next."
