One of the more noteworthy players in the Norwegian CS:GO scene, Haakon "Radifaction" Tholo, has left Nordavind for Apeks, an up-and-coming team that just qualified for EU ESEA Advanced.
Although the move itself may not turn heads initially, this is particularly interesting in light of the Marcelo "coldzera" David to FaZe Clan rumors.
FaZe's tough decision
One of the toughest things to figure out about FaZe's desire to change their roster right now is who you cut on a team filled with players who are absolutely legends of the game. With this move, there is potentially a destination for Håvard "rain" Nygaard to return to his home country's best team and play with the likes of Jorgen "cromen" Robertsen, who shone alongside rain as a stand in for FaZe at ESL Belo Horizonte, Jesper "TENZKI" Plougmann, and Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel.
There is a precedent for former FaZe Clan members returning to their Scandinavian homelands to create world beating teams, could this be the next chapter in that narrative?
Is that a bit hyperbolic? Sure. But to me the only logical cuts from FaZe right now are rain and maybe Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer.
Changing IGLs (again) will only continue the vicious cycle of the same problem with no real solution for FaZe, and I can't see them cutting either Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács or Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, who are both among the best in the world at their skill positions, as an AWPer and a rifler respectively.
Time will tell, but if Nordavind can cut a big enough check, I think FaZe would cut them a deal for one Mr Nygaard.
