We are pretty sure that after you read this article, you will have some kind of exciting feeling inside of you, which proves your love for esports, thanks to all the people that contributed towards Cloud 9 and esports.
Here we are with the successes of Cloud9 in League of Legends and a review of today’s team.
How it started
When you look at the beginning of Cloud 9, it is possible to see the creation and collapse of teams which finally led to its late shape as an esports organization.
It all started when League of Legends players of Quantic Gaming were released from their team in 2013. The five players Nientonsoh, Hai, Yazuki, WildTurtle and LemonNation decided to create their team under the name of Team NomNom, which later evolved to Cloud9 in early 2013.
After a period of name changing troubles such as going back to the Quantic Gaming name and changing it again to Cloud 9, the team became an esports organization in May 2013 when former Team SoloMid managers Jack and Pauille Etienne decided to buy the contracts of all players.
Successes of Cloud9
Not long after its formation Cloud9 won North America LCS Summer 2013 against Team SoloMid. With their first ever trophy in League of Legends, they also won the $50,000 prize.
Their second success in North America LCS took place in 2014, when the team finished the North America LCS Spring 2014 in first place, where they got $50,000 prize and won against Team SoloMid again.

After these wins, the team was still good, all the while making it to the finals of the North America LCS leagues 5 times between 2014-2018.
In the 2018 World Championship, Cloud9 placed 3-4th in the tournament where they won their biggest prize of $451,500.
In recent years, Cloud9 has shown great success in the LCS again when they won LCS Spring 2020 and 2021 twice.
With a 92.9% win rate in the 2020 Spring Split, Cloud9 have the highest winrate in a single split in LCS history, set at 26 wins and 2 losses.
Current scenario of Cloud9
2021 for Cloud9 ended with a very surprising news when one of the biggest mid lane players of League of Legends, Croatian player Luka "Perkz" Perković left the team and became part of the LEC team, Team Vitality.
Also, American/South Korean player Kim "Winsome" Dong-keon and Danish player Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen had transferred to the Cloud9 Academy team. In addition to that, their support player Philippe "Vulcan" Laflamme also left the team and now, he is playing in LCS team Evil Geniuses.
They completed their main squad with 3 transfers that they made in November 20, 2020: Top lane player Park “Summit” Woo-tae from SANDBOX Gaming, Bot player Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol from T1 Challengers and finally, Support player Jonah “Isles” Rosario from their own academy team.
