MSI 2023: Lower Bracket Quarterfinals betting odds

Two more teams are facing elimination at this year's Mid-Season Invitational, as we look forward to the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals.

MSI 2023: Lower Bracket Quarterfinals schedule, betting odds and predictions

We've already said goodbye to two teams so far this tournament after the Lower Bracket Round 1 matches saw both MAD Lions and Golden Guardians sent packing for the trip home.

And the carnage is only set to continue, as six surviving teams at MSI 2023 fight it out to see who will make it through to the May 21 Grand Final. T1 and JD Gaming are waiting to face off in the May 18 Upper Bracket Final, leaving four more teams to go head-to-head in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals.

The Lower Bracket Quarterfinals action is due to kick off at 13:00 GMT on May 16, when we'll be treated to a match between Bilibili Gaming and G2 Esports.

Bilibili Gaming (1.20) vs G2 Esports (4.00)

Bilibili Gaming had a near-perfect run through the Play-In Stage, boasting a 2-0 victory over Rainbow7 and a 2-1 win over Golden Guardians to earn their spot in the Playoffs. That win streak was brought to an unfortunate end in the Bracket Stage, however. Things started off well, with Bilibili claiming a commanding 3-0 win over Cloud9 in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, but the Chinese team went on to suffer a 3-0 loss to JD Gaming in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Bilibili have proven themselves to be a strong competitor so far this tournament, but is their run about to come to an end?

G2 Esports, meanwhile, had a similarly strong run through the Play-In Stage, earning 2-0 victories over both LOUD and PSG Talon. That perfect record was brought to a swift end once in the Playoffs, however, where G2 suffered a 3-1 loss to Gen.G Esports in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals. They've managed to avoid elimination so far, having successfully faced off against MAD Lions in their Lower Bracket Round 1 match. But will they be able to survive against Bilibili Gaming, and make it through to the Lower Bracket Final?

The odds are in Bilibili Gaming's favour here, at 1.20 vs G2 Esports' 4.00.

And our second Lower Bracket Quarterfinals match will take place on the day after, with Gen.G Esports going up against Cloud9 at 13:00 GMT on May 17.

Gen.G Esports (1.02) vs Cloud9 (10.00)

Gen.G Esports made their MSI 2023 debut during the May 9 Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, having qualified for the Playoffs through their 1st-place win at LCK Spring 2023. The team got off to an excellent start, having claimed a 3-1 victory over G2 Esports. However, their Upper Bracket Semifinals match against T1 didn't go quite to plan, with the closely fought match going to T1 with a final score of 3-2. Gen.G Esports may now be facing potential elimination, but fans are still expecting big things from the team who claimed a 3rd-4th spot at last year's World Championship.

Cloud9, meanwhile, similarly made their MSI debut during the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals - having qualified through their 1st-place finish at LCS Spring 2023. But things got off to a bad start for Cloud9, who immediately suffered a 3-0 loss to Bilibili Gaming in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals. Fortunately, they comfortably avoided elimination through a 3-1 win over Golden Guardians in their Lower Bracket Round 1 match. However, Cloud9 are facing potentially insurmountable odds against Gen.G Esports, and it would take a profound upset win for them to survive this.

The odds are heavily in Gen.G Esports' favour here, at 1.02 vs Cloud9's 10.00.
