LPL 2022 Spring is going as expected: Week 2 schedule, standings and betting odds

The first week at League Pro League (LPL) is over and it was worthy of the hype that Chinese teams get. After the initial matches, we have three leaders at the top of the ladder, and favourites like EDward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, Royal Never Give Up and Bilibili Gaming are already off to a great start.

The only surprise of the first week was Oh My God, a team considered to be behind the favourites and thought to be a struggling one. They’ve won all three games, although all of them were against teams on their level, while they will have to play against favourites like EDG later. Still, defeating opponents close to your level means you won’t have to worry about being 17th place!

Important games of the 2nd week from LPL 2022

If you are looking for more details, you can check out our brief analysis of the games below, and if not, scroll down to the standings at the end of the article. As it’s the new year and teams went through many changes, we will also remind you of the rosters and the current state of the teams.

EDward Gaming, keeping their champion and Worlds winning roster from last year, had a great first week winning all four games, starting out 2-0. EDG’s rivals were renowned JD Gaming and last place ThunderTalk. The team’s top laner Flandre played Annie for the first game, shocking and entertaining the viewers. Stomping such a great team and even having fun while ending the games must be a great feeling for EDG.

Before moving on to FunPlus Phoenix and Royal Never Give Up, keep in mind that their first game was against each other. First day of the week saw an amazing matchup between these two teams who changed their rosters quite a bit. FPX’s new roster with Gori managed to defeat RNG who swapped Xiaohu back to mid lane and brought Bin in.

Gori’s massive Corki damage was definitely the highlight of this amazing series which FPX won 2-1. If you want to watch a game from week one, you should definitely tune in to FPX vs RNG.

Moving on, FPX defeated LGD Gaming with one familiar name, shad0w, who used to play for MAD Lions. With this 2-0 win, FPX was one of the teams to close out the week without a loss and get the first place. FPX played another game today, against Anyone’s Legend, one of the weaker teams of LPL. Defeating them 2-0, FPX made their score 3-0 overall.

Royal Never Give Up advanced by getting a win against JDG. It was another 2-1 for RNG, but they managed to get the win and make it 1-1 for their first week. RNG also defeated the last place of the league, ThunderTalk, to make it 2-1.

Bilibili Gaming with all the hype in the world played only one game this week, against a very strong Weibo Gaming at the tailend of the week. Defeating Weibo 2-1, Bilibili had a great morale boost at the start of the year. To remind you, Bilibili consists of players like FoFo, Breathe, Doffo and Uzi, who is currently a sub.

Weibo Gaming (Suning last year), TheShy, SofM, Angel, huanfeng and ON, took one win home at week 1, defeating Team WE. Victory Five with Karsa, Rookie and ppgod also defeated Team WE, although not as convincingly.

Doinb’s LNG is going good, they are one of the 2-0 teams of week one. LNG defeated some mid-low table teams, Rare Atom and Ultra Prime. However, Doinb managed to do what he does best, during the very little time he had and surprised us with his tank Ryze.

I am sure there are a lot of people wondering about Top Esports, LGD Gaming, or the disappointing Invictus Gaming. However, their game’s were insignificant this week. If they manage to keep up with the tougher crowd of the competition later, they will have more spotlight on them. It is really sad to see TES being defeated by Rare Atom, and struggling to defeat Ultra Prime.
