We're nearing the endgame of the first DPC Major of the year, as we get ready for the Lima Major 2023 Lower Bracket Quarterfinals!

The Lima Grand Final is just days away, due to close out the first-ever South American Dota 2 Major on March 5.
The remaining teams in the Lima Major are fighting it out for the right to compete in that Grand Final, with both the Upper and Lower Brackets rapidly approaching their end stages. We'll be treated to the Upper Bracket Final match between Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid at 18:00 on March 4 - but first, it's time for the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals!
The first Quarterfinal match in the Lower Bracket is due to begin at 22:30 GMT on March 3, when we'll see Shopify Rebellion going head-to-head with Evil Geniuses.
Shopify Rebellion (1.86) vs Evil Geniuses (1.92)
Shopify Rebellion have fallen to the Lower Bracket, following their 2-0 loss to the seemingly unstoppable Team Liquid in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. That means Shopify are now facing the threat of elimination for the first time in this tournament. It would mark the end of a promising run should they stumble here, and Evil Geniuses have every chance of sending Shopify Rebellion packing later today.
Speaking of Evil Geniuses, They've been competing in the Lower Bracket ever since the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, where they suffered a 2-0 loss to Entity. They've fared considerably better since then, however, securing a 2-0 victory over local South American heroes beastcoast, as well as going on to eliminate Chinese squad Team Aster from the tournament through a hard-fought 2-1 win. Evil Geniuses have done a great job of surviving so far in the Lower Bracket, but will Shopify Rebellion prove too much for them to deal with?
The odds are neck and neck here, with the odds ever so slightly favouring Shopify Rebellion, at 1.86 to Evil Geniuses' 1.92.
Our second and final Lower Bracket Quarterfinal match meanwhile will kick off at 15:00 GMT on March 4, when we'll see Entity going up against Talon Esports.
Entity (1.50) vs Talon Esports (2.54)
Entity have found themselves in the Lower Bracket following their 2-0 loss to Gaimin Gladiators in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. That means Entity are now facing elimination for the first time at the Lima Major, after an incredible run that saw them not only defeating Evil Geniuses with a comfortable 2-0 victory in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals but also ending their Group Stage run with a compelling record of four wins, three draws, and one loss.
Talon Esports have just claimed a promising 2-1 win over Team Spirit, staying in the tournament despite the odds having been heavily against them. Talon is another team to have fallen victim to Team Liquid's incredible run through this Major, but have otherwise performed well, having also claimed a 2-0 victory over HellRaisers in their Lower Bracket Round 1 match. Talon have survived to see another match - But do they have what it takes to defeat Entity?
