Here’s a rundown of important esports events that’s about to happen in March week 2.
CSGO - ESL Pro League Season 15
Another huge CSGO event is just around the corner. March 9th is when the next season of ESL Pro League kicks off.
The tournament will run through April 10th, with the majority of the time dedicated to group stage battles.
Because the group stage adopts a Swiss format in which each team plays all other teams in their group once, this is the case. More information about the tournament format may be found further down.
The prize pool totals $823,000, with $175,000 going to the winning team. The winner team will receive a straight berth at the BLAST Premier World Final 2022 in addition to the grand prize.
Another huge CSGO event is just around the corner. March 9th is when the next season of ESL Pro League kicks off.
Not to mention the BLAST Premier and ESL Pro Tour points. Because these will be essential for certain teams, you should expect everyone to give it their all in Cologne, Germany.
There’s also important updates about the Russian Teams regarding the escalation of the crisis in Ukraine.
VALORANT - Champions Tour 2022: APAC Stage 1 Challengers
The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) APAC Stage-1 Challengers will begin next week, with the top teams from Asia competing for a spot in the Valorant Masters Stage-1 next month.
The tournament's format was previously confirmed by Riot. There will be three phases of the tournament:
- Play-In
- Group Stage
- Playoffs
Riot has published the group drawings for the APAC Stage-1 Challengers Play-In and Group Stage. The event will include a total of 20 teams, with only two advancing to the Valorant Masters Stage-1 in April.
StarCraft 2 - 2022 Global StarCraft II League Season 1: Qualifier

GSL is a large tournament-based League held on location in South Korea and holds multiple events each year. This year’s League officially begins on March 10th, with the beginning of its qualifiers.
Format
League format will look like this:
- Played online on March 10 and 11, 2022 - TBD KST.
- Double-elimination brackets with top two of each advancing to main tournament.
- All matches are Bo3.

- Berlingrad LE
- 2000 Atmospheres LE
- Hardwire LE
It will have a prize pool of $123,000
Hearthstone - Masters Tour 2022 Onyxia's Lair
The Hearthstone Masters Tour Onyxia's Lair begins on Thursday, with a $250,000 prize pool and the chance to play using the Onyxia's Lair Mini-Set, which contains 35 new cards.
The Hearthstone Masters Tour Onyxia's Lair will be broadcast live. On the first day, competitors will compete in four Swiss rounds against one another. Swiss rounds five through eight will be held on Friday.
Onyxia's Lair, a Hearthstone Masters Tour event, will include a round of 16 and a top eight on Saturday. These games will take place before the semifinals and final.
Call of Duty - Call of Duty League 2022: Stage 2
CDL Major 2 will be from March 31 to April 3, hosted by Minnesota RØKKR and its group stage kicks off next week Friday on March 18th.
CDL Major 1 matches will run through this weekend so the final results are yet to be announced with that in mind, CDL Major 2 will also follow the same format as the Major 1 and we’ll be covering it exclusively this week.
Format
- 5 matches played per team
- Online Qualifier standings will be used to determine seeding in each Major for all 12 Teams
- Each team receives 10 CDL points for each win
Call of Duty - Challengers 2022 - Elite 2: NA & EU
Call of Duty Challengers is the official amateur competition for Call of Duty, organized by Activision.
Online and offline events take place throughout the season for players to earn prizes, accumulate Challenger Points to be used for seeding, and to showcase their talents to the Call of Duty League teams.
The Elite 2 events will run 2022-03-08 to 2022-03-23 and feature a prize pool of $50,000.
