Immortals' midlaner Nicholas "Ablazeolive" Abbott will be stepping away from the LCS for the rest of the Spring Split, the team has announced.

While Immortals didn't get into specifics about Ablazeolive's departure, they did reveal that he was taking a break due to "personal reasons."
"For the remainder of the split, LCS midlaner Nicholas "Ablazeolive" Abbott will be taking a break from competitive play for personal reasons," reads Immortal's statement. "We prioritise the well-being of our players and staff above all else and fully support Nick with his decision."
Ablazeolive has been playing League of Legends professionally since 2015, back when he was on the Mentality Gaming roster. His more recent experience includes multiple stints with Golden Guardians, before joining Immortals in November 2022.
"After a lot of thought, I believe this is the best decision for myself," said Ablazeolive. "I want to thank my teammates, staff the org, and the fans for their support and understanding."
It is not yet clear when (or if) Ablazeolive will return to Immortals' active roster, with the team simply stating that he will be absent for the rest of the Spring Split.
Additionally, Immortals revealed that Immortals Challengers player Onur "Bolulu" Demirol will be filling in for Ablazeolive for the rest of the Spring Split. Bolulu will be making his LCS debut on Friday, March 3 - When the team is due to go up against Dignitas. You can find out more about that match right here.
Immortals have struggled so far this season, having found themselves in ninth place with a 2-9 record. It's a dismal result for the team, with only Dignitas having performed worse, with a record of 1-10.
It remains to be seen if Ablazeolive's temporary departure will further impact Immortals' struggles this season - Or if Bolulu will be able to help turn the tide in their March 3 match against Dignitas.
