IEM Winter 2021 is just around the corner. On December 2, the tournament will be held in Stockholm and everybody’s invited to share the excitement.
IEM Winter 2021 will run until December 12, featuring 16 outstanding teams competing for $250,000 in prize pool.
IEM Winter 2021 format
Sixteen teams are divided into two groups.. All matches will be Bo3 in the group stage, except the opening matches which will be Bo1. As a result of the groups being played in a double-elimination format, the group stage winners will advance directly to the semifinals. The runners-up will start as high seeds in the quarterfinals. The third of the groups will also start the quarterfinals as low seeds. Thus, the playoff stage will begin with six teams.
The six teams that made it to the playoffs will compete in a single-elimination bracket format. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be Bo3, while the grand finals will be Bo5.
