IEM Katowice 2022, one of the most anticipated tournaments for StarCraft II lovers, starts today. The top players of the game will compete for the prize pool of $500,000.

IEM Katowice 2022 format
Four participating players in IEM Katowice 2022 main tournament group stage have been determined by Round of 36. These players are ByuN, Spirit, Rung and Astrea.
In the group stage, 24 players are divided into four groups of six. Groups will be played in a round-robin format. All matches will be Bo3. The first placed individuals will be promoted directly to the quarterfinals. Second and third places will try to advance further from Round of 12. The group stage will be played on February 24-25.
The playoffs will be played in a single-elimination bracket. The grand final will be played as Bo7 series, and all the other rounds will be Bo5. The playoffs will start on February 26 and end on February 27.
