With the IEM Katowice 2019 Major well under way, we thought it was time to sit down and talk through a few of the biggest storylines to come out of CSGO’s premier event so far. We’ve seen some shocks, some very sad stories and the sort of underdog tales that make fans of sports and esports alike love the greatest FPS ever made, and we aren’t even at the sharp end yet, with another full week to follow the weekend’s play.
The best two teams in the world have already booked their spot in the final eight, and are on opposites sides of the bracket, setting us up for potentially the dream final, but there are so many variables, and no bad outcomes.
