Gambit Esports dominated the V4 Future Sports Festival, an eight-day tournament held in Budapest between November 14 - 21 with €300,000 prize pool, by defeating Entropiq in the finals.
Gambit did not have one of the best group stages
Although Gambit Esports dominated the V4 Future Sports Festival, they did not get through the group stage so easily. After a 9-16 loss to Team Fiend in the first game, Gambit had a tough time playing against eSuba in Bo3's first game in the elimination phase.
First on Mirage, eSuba took a 4-14 lead over Gambit Esports but the latter did not give up, and managed to beat their opponent 19-17. Gambit did not want to leave their situation to chance in Overpass and sent eSuba out of the tournament with an overwhelming 16-2 score.
In the quarter-finals, Gambit faced ENTERPRISE esports. On Dust II, ENTERPRISE defeated Gambit Esports 16-12. But Gambit advanced to the semi-finals by scoring 16-3 on Inferno and 16-6 on Mirage respectively. In the semi-finals, they defeated BIG, one of the tougher rivals, 2-0 and advanced to the final.
The most successful team of the group stage was Entropiq
Entropiq, which started the group stage with a crushing 16-2 victory against Sinners Esports, also qualified to start directly from the semi-finals after beating ENTERPRISE esports 2-1.
Entropiq defeated their rival Team Fiend in the semifinals, and thus advanced to the finals.
Entropiq's comeback attempt was not enough to win the title
In the grand finals, Gambit won consecutively on Vertigo and Ancient. They were very close to the championship. Even though they won 13 rounds in Overpass, Entropiq was victorious. On Mirage, the score was 7-16 in favor of Entropiq.
In the final game, that extended to the last map of Bo5 with a 2-2 tie, the teams met for the last time in Dust II. With an overwhelming 16-4 score in Dust II, Gambit Esports became the winner of V4 Future Sports Festival. With their amazing performance, Gambit Esports reached the grand prize of €150,000. Entropiq earned €60,000 for second place.
Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov earned his third MVP award
