How to bet on football: The basics
By far the simplest and most popular way to bet on football is to simply pick which team you think will win a specific match. You can click here to see all the upcoming matches for you to place a bet on - From there, simply select a match, and click on the team you think will win, and your prediction will be added to your betslip.

How to bet on the World Cup
By far the biggest opportunity to get more involved in your favourite match is, of course, the World Cup - taking place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
To help you keep on top of each match, we have a full list of each game happening during the World Cup right here, with the full times and details of each game.
Betting odds explained
Whenever you place a bet at Luckbox, you’ll see a number. That number indicates the bet multiplayer, showing you how much your bet will be multiplied by should you win.
For instance, if you place a €10 bet on a team with odds of 2.0, you will pay €10 to make your bet, and will be credited €20 should you win, for a net profit of €10.
Or to go for a slightly more complicated example, you may see betting odds of 1.20, for instance. Should you win in this case, your €10 bet will come back to you as €12 - with your €10 being returned to you alongside €2 of net profit (10 x 1.2 = 12, for a win of €2).
Generally speaking, the stronger teams who have a better chance of winning will have a lower betting multiplayer. The weaker team will therefore have a higher betting multiplayer, and is known as the ‘underdog’
What is an Asian handicap?
We also offer Asian handicap betting options - a form of betting that evens the playing field a little in a match between two unbalanced teams. When a stronger team is likely to win over a weaker team, an Asian handicap gives the stronger team a goal deficit - giving the underdog team a head start. This handicap essentially forces a winner, eliminating the chance for a draw.
For instance, a 0.25 Asian handicap gives the underdog team a quarter goal lead, a 0.5 handicap gives them a half goal lead, and so on. In the case that a whole number is used for the handicap the adjusted final score could result in a draw. However, in this situation it is not a draw, but a push - where you’ll get your bet back as neither team is the winner.
What is an underdog?
The term ‘underdog’ applies to a team that is less likely to win a match. Naturally, these teams will have higher odds associated with them, meaning that placing a bet on them will offer higher returns on your initial stake, should they win.
While betting on the stronger team is of course the safer option, seeing the underdog pull off a surprise win is always exciting - even more so if you’ve placed a higher-risk bet on their victory.
What is a combo bet?
Here at Luckbox we offer the opportunity to place a combo bet. These kinds of bets allow you to earn even higher returns by combining multiple bets at once. A combo bet will win if ALL of the conditions are met.
As a hypothetical example, you may decide to bet on Denmark at odds of 1.45 and Argentina at odds of 1.84. Should you choose to place a combo bet, your final odds will be 1.45 x 1.84, resulting in odds of 2.66.
Given that a combo bet will naturally result in a higher return should you win, you’re free to make a lower stake in the hopes of a bigger reward. Of course on the other hand, there is also a higher chance of your bet not succeeding, as in this case both Denmark and Argentina would have to win their respective games. Should either one of the teams lose, your bet would be unsuccessful.
This is therefore a high risk, high reward situation - as reflected in the higher betting odds associated with combo bets.
Live betting
Luckbox allows you to stay close to the action, offering live bets on every match. Simply head to the list of matches available to place a bet on - and if the game has already kicked off, you’ll see the ‘Live’ tag next to it.
During live matches, you can place all your usual bets - as well as which team will score the next goal. Or indeed, you can even place a bet that neither team will score, if you want.
More betting options
Betting on a specific team to win is the simplest and most popular way to bet - but for the hardcore fans out there, we offer you the opportunity to really get into the details of each match.
Got a feeling about the game’s final score? You can not only bet on which team will win, but the score with which they’ll win by. For instance, you could bet on France to beat Tunisia for odds of 6.00. Alternatively, you can even bet on the exact kind of draw - will neither team score, or will the final result be a 2:2 draw? We leave the choice in your hands.
If you want to get a little less specific than that, you can place a bet that the total goals will be over or under a certain number - In that France vs Tunisia example, you could bet that the total goals will be over 1.5 for odds of 1.24.
Additionally, you can bet that a team will keep a clean sheet (meaning that they don’t concede a single goal to the rival team), or alternatively you can bet that both teams will score.
And you can not only bet on who wins the match overall, but who will win each half. You can even bet on France winning the first half, while Tunisia wins the second, if you wish. This also applies to asian handicap betting options.
You can also place a double chance bet - meaning that you can bet on two potential outcomes. For instance, you could bet on either a France win or a draw for odds of 1.05. While these bets offer a lower rate of return, they are also a lower-risk bet.
There’s really no end to how complicated you want your bet to be - from the number of corners to the number of cards given to players. To see your full range of options, simply select the match you want to bet on and click “all.”
Don’t miss out on Free Bets
Most betting websites offer free bets or bonus codes to attract and retain loyal customers. Free bets are a great way to try out betting without making too much of a risk, and can be a fun way to get closer to the action from your favourite team.
