FiReLEAGUE 2022: Global Finals is starting

With a $150,000 prize pool, FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals kicks off in Barcelona. Eight teams from different places in the world will clash and fight for the championship, and the winner will get a huge prize of $100,000 and the bragging rights. Let's take a look at what's waiting for us.

FiReLEAGUE focuses on South American talent, so there are lots of it in the tournament, but as Team oNe eSports won't be able to make it, we have one more European team: Team Spirit, the replacement invitee. We will first take a look at the participating teams, and move on to the schedule and odds.

FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals teams

Only eight teams made it to the Global Finals stage of FiReLEAGUE 2022. These eight teams will fight in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches, and only the grand final will be a best-of-five. The last team standing will take $100,000 home.

Among the invited teams is FalleN's Imperial Esports, who recently made it to the Rio Major. One of the best Brazilian orgs, MIBR are also invited. Finally, paiN Gaming, one of the biggest orgs in Brazil and an iconic roster, is invited to Barcelona to be a part of this competition.

9z Team won FiReLEAGUE 2021 and had a direct slot in this year's finals. They had a great run last year, and we will see if they can repeat it. As the winner of the North American Qualifier, Team oNe eSports was expected to join but they withdrew. Team Spirit who recently made it to Rio Major will replace them.

MASONIC won the European Qualifier to make it to final here. From the Argentinian League, 9z Team and Isurus had the rights to participate in the global finals, but as 9z Team already had a slot, their slot went to the third place, WINDINGO.

FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals schedule

Check out the schedule below:

October 14, Friday
paiN Gaming (1.45) vs MASONIC (2.45) - 17:00 CEST
Imperial Esports (1.17) vs Isurus (4.40) - 20:00 CEST
October 15, Saturday
Team Spirit (1.02) vs WINDINGO (10.00) - 17:00 CEST
MIBR (1.78) vs 9z Team (1.92) - 20:00 CEST

These are the quarter-finals of the FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals. The semi-finals and the grand final will all be played on October 16.

The favourites for the first day seem to be paiN Gaming and Imperial Esports. Although they are not the most perfect teams, their recent forms suggest that they can take down MASONIC and Isurus, two low-profile teams. They have a good chance of facing each other in the semi-finals.

The second day has a clear favourite in one game. Team Spirit should easily take the win against WINDINGO. However, MIBR and 9z Team will play a much closer game, and the loser will miss out on hefty prizes, taking only $1,500 home.
