Håvard "rain" Nygaard of FaZe Clan has spoken out to deny the rumours that he is considering retiring from professional Counter-Strike.

Håvard "rain" Nygaard denies that he is considering retirement
That's according to rain's recent interview with HLTV, in which the player declared that he is here to stay. When asked directly about the rumours circulating the CS:GO community regarding his potential retirement plans, rain emphatically denied that he has any such plans.
"Yeah, I don't know what the **** everybody is talking about," said rain. "I also read somewhere that Pimp was talking on the analyst desk that I was planning on retiring as well, there is no plans. I just re-signed a contract with FaZe, I'm here to stay. My family, my wife, everybody is really supportive of what I'm doing. I'm not going anywhere."
The rumours had first emerged due to rain having recently become a father, with his first child having been born earlier this year. Given the demanding schedule for professional CS:GO players, many speculated that he would step away from FaZe Clan in order to spend more time with his child.
With Counter-Strike 2 due to replace CS:GO soon, many fans had wondered if he would take that as an opportunity to bring an end to his prolific career in the esport.
Fans have also argued that rain's time with FaZe Clan has been so successful that there's little else left for him to achieve. After all, FaZe Clan have had an incredible run in recent years - having won the Intel Grand Slam earlier this year, as well as claiming victory at PGL Major Antwerp in 2022.
However, rain is hardly the only CS:GO player to have a child. G2 Esports' Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač is also a father, and he too shows no sign of stepping away from Counter-Strike.
FaZe Clan are no doubt relieved to hear that rain isn't retiring just yet. The player has been a big part of their success, particularly as they make their way through the BLAST.tv Paris Major. The team just recently made it through to the Legends Stage with a 3-1 record. Given their incredible performance recently, FaZe are one of the favourites to win the final CS:GO Major - and you'll be able to watch their efforts live on Luckbox.
