All twenty-four teams participating at IEM Katowice 2022 have been announced. The list of leading Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams is quite exciting, even though there are more than two months left until the tournament.

IEM Katowice 2022 format and schedule
IEM Katowice 2022 will start first with the play-in stage. NAVI, Gambit Esports, G2 Esports, Team Vitality, Heroic, Virtus.pro, FURIA Esports and Team Liquid will not be featured at this stage. These eight teams count as directly qualified teams because of their success at Road to Katowice. On February 15 and 16, the play-in stage will be played in a double-elimination bracket. After the Bo1 opening matches, all subsequent rounds will be Bo3. Out of the sixteen teams in this stage, the eight most successful teams will advance to the group stage.
On February 17, the group stage will begin. There will be two double-elimination format groups. Eight teams will take part in each group. As a result of the Bo3 matches, the first three of the groups will advance to the playoffs. Group stage winners will advance directly to the semifinals. The runners-up will take part in the quarterfinals as high seeds. Third places will be low seeds. The group stage will end on February 20.
On February 25, things will heat up and the playoffs will begin. The playoffs will be played in a single-elimination bracket. Quarterfinals and semifinals will be Bo3. The grand final will be Bo5, and at the end of this magnificent match, the grand prize of $400,000 will find its owner on February 27.

When we look at the teams, we do not know where to start. There are twenty-four teams, each better than the other. When we ask who is the favorite of the tournament, the answer is probably the same for all of us. Natus Vincere, a team that has long forgotten what second place looks like, is the likely favorite of the tournament. The teams that NAVI might have the most difficulty with are Gambit Esports and Team Vitality. Considering their recent performances, G2 and Heroic should not be underestimated as well. However, NAVI, who lost their last title to Gambit Esports in IEM Fall 2021 CIS, is undoubtedly the best team of recent times, considering their performances in PGL Major Stockholm 2021, BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2021 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2021.
