According to the Road to Cologne rankings, the 7th, 8th, 9th teams of Europe, the 3rd and 4th teams of North America, first places of South America, Oceania and Asia will start IEM Cologne 2022 from the play-in stage. IEM Cologne 2022 format
The play-in phase of IEM Cologne 2022 will be played in the double-elimination bracket. All opening matches will be Bo1. The following matches will be Bo3. The eight most successful teams will advance to the group stage.
There will be two double-elimination format (GSL) groups in the group stage. There will be eight teams in each group. The top three teams in each group will advance to the playoffs. The group leaders will start from the semifinals. Group runners-up will be high seeds in the quarterfinals, while third place will be low seeds.
Playoffs will be played in single-elimination bracket format. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be Bo3, while the grand final will be Bo5.
IEM Cologne 2022 important dates
IEM Cologne 2022 will begin on July 5 with the play-in stage and it will end on July 6. On July 7, we will start watching the group stage. The end date of the group stage is July 10. The real competition will begin on July 15. The magnificent playoffs of 6 teams will continue for three days. The IEM Cologne 2022 champion will be announced on 17 July.
