Esports organisation HONORIS has shut down

HONORIS, the esports organisation founded in 2020 by Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and Filip "NEO" Kubski, has shut down due to financial difficulties.

HONORIS ceases activities due to financial difficulties

The news comes via a statement posted to Twitter, in which NEO and TaZ revealed that the organisation did not have sufficient funds to continue operations.

HONORIS was founded in 2020, after both NEO and TaZ struggled to find a new team after the departure of the Polish Virtus.pro roster in December 2019.

Despite TaZ describing himself as still feeling "hungry for fighting and winning" around the organisation's launch, the team failed to make much of an impact on the CS:GO scene. The highest-profile LAN event HONORIS attended was the recent CCT Central Europe Malta Finals, in which the team finished in joint-last place.

"We hope that we have effectively shared our experience and helped develop the talents of several young players whose careers are now open," said NEO in a statement. "We have also shown that it is possible to build an organization operating on the principles of fair play - both publicly and internally."

Elsewhere in the statement, TaZ revealed that he and NEO had been financially supporting the organisation out of their own pockets, adding that they'd been holding it together financially for three years and that "the players and associates always received their salaries on time and could count on the organization's support."

"Facing the lack of sufficient financial resources for the coming years, together we decided to end HONORIS' activities in the current formula," said TaZ.

The organisation's players will now become free agents, and NEO and TaZ promised to "inform you individually about their further plans."

The HONORIS roster consisted of Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, Kamil "reiko" Cegiełko, Dawid "SaMey" Stańczak, Kamil "Sobol" Sobolewski, Dawid "lunAtic" Cieślak, substitute player Filip "NEO" Kubski and coach Vincent "VinS" Jozefiak.
