IEM Dallas Highlights & Playoffs Predictions

ENCE, FaZe Clan, FURIA Esports, G2 Esports and Cloud9 will be the show runners of the IEM Dallas tomorrow. Some unexpected results, such as ENCE’s toppling of the tournament favourite FaZe with odds stacked against them and G2 snatching the victory from one of the best teams of CS:GO Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, transpired yesterday.

Russel Van Dulken or better known as Twıstzz of FaZe even stated in an HTLV interview:

“I think they just have a very unique playstyle. As Snappi said in his HLTV interview before, ‘if the rush doesn't work, just rush harder’ It can be very frustrating to play against, I feel like they've taken this FURIA-esque style and applied more structure and teamwork to it. They have good players on the team.”

FaZe saw no opposition in their opening two matches, cruising over Encore and Vitality in two maps. When it came time to face ENCE for a berth in the semis, FaZe failed to get a T side working and lost in three maps against a surging Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski.

ENCE defeated the defending Major winners despite missing their top player and will now skip the quarter-final game. ENCE defeated the world's top team despite being without its highest-rated player, Lotan "Spinx" Giladi, owing to visa concerns.

After a hard-fought victory over Vitality, G2 secure a spot in the IEM Dallas playoffs. The triumph comes after a string of unimpressive performances, and the European mix team will now try to maintain their success in the quarter-finals, when they face FURIA.

BIG, the last-minute substitute, defeated FURIA to advance to the semi-finals.

Cloud9 unsurprisingly claimed the final playoff slot available in Group B after terminating Liquid's season at IEM Dallas in two maps, dominating on Ancient and brushing off their North American opponents' comeback efforts on Vertigo.

G2 will likely be struggling against a FURIA that puts in the teamwork, albeit odds being against them and our prediction is that FURIA is most likely to win.

Faze versus Cloud9 could only go one way.

It is a straight road to the Finals after that point, where we’ll see a showdown between FaZe and ENCE.

What is even more fascinating is that ENCE managed to beat FaZe without their best player. Snax served as a stand-in for Spinx. If ENCE survives through all of this, it will be a sudden end for the FaZe domination in the CS:GO Esports scene.
