Heading on to week three at LPL 2022 Spring, EDward Gaming, LNG Esports, Royal Never Give Up and Victory Five keep on leading the league. With 17 games being played last week, LPL is advancing fast. Let’s have a look at what happened in week two and try to keep track of this overwhelming competition.
There were less games between favourites this week, but that did not stop upsets from happening. After disappointing their fans in first week, JD Gaming defeated FunPlus Phoenix and had a 2-0 week. The last game was Victory Five vs Top Esports, where V5 took the win.
LPL 2022 Spring week two recap
Week 2 started with Royal Never Give Up vs ThunderTalk Gaming, one of the strongest teams in the LPL vs the bottom place TT, that RNG won 2-0. Next up, FunPlus Phoenix left no room for surprises against Anyone’s Legend with another 2-0.
The second day of the week was similar with JD Gaming defeating LGD’s mediocre roster and EDG struggling but securing the win against Ultra Prime 2-1. Interesting games were Top Esports vs Team WE, where the former emerged victorious 2-1. It was the second win of the season for TES, a team disappointing their fans for a lot of time now.
Oh My God started out really well in 2022, however, their first “real” challenge proved to be hard for them, as Bilibili Gaming and EDward Gaming defeated them. ThunderTalk took their first win against Weibo Gaming, where Weibo eventually won the series.
The games on the weekend had so much more on stake, with LNG vs WE, JDG vs FPX and V5 vs TES. Doinb’s LNG annihilated WE 2-0 and JD Gaming are finally online after defeating FPX and securing their second win. The very last game was Victory Five vs Top Esports, the fight between Rookie and knight, where eventually Rookie won convincingly.

Although the week starts with weaker games, after Thursday, amazing matches are waiting for us. Weibo Gaming with TheShy will take on Karsa and Rookie’s Victory Five, making the beloved TheShy-Rookie duo face each other. Considering current form, V5 is without a defeat, but Weibo is still a great competitor with a 3-1 score and it’s not going to be an easy one for either team.
Next up is LNG Esports vs FunPlus Phoenix, two of the top teams at LPL currently. Doinb will face his old team with the help of Tarzan, while FPX tries to bring him down with gori. Until now, LNG looks unstoppable, and while FPX is also 3-1, they surely aren’t looking as good as LNG on the Rift. Keep your eyes on this one.
Top Esports will take on Oh My God, which lost the hype, and the last game will be Royal Never Give Up vs Bilibili Gaming, another match between two championship favourites. Both teams are in great form, which will leave the fate of the game on the hands of the carries: Taiwanese FoFo/Doggo vs Chinese Xiaohu/GALA.
