PGL Americas is almost over with only a day’s worth of matches remaining. That one day will determine which team will qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Legends Stage, which teams will follow up behind in the Challengers, and of course which teams will be eliminated from a shot at the grand tournament until next year.
Today at 09:00 CEST, the most important match of Americas RMR will be played out between Furia eSports and MiBR to determine the 1st place contender which will be able to bypass the Challengers Stage in the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 altogether and advance to the Legends Stage (the second leg of the tournament).
The winner will also get the $25,000 prize from the total $50,000 prize pool.

MIBR vs. FURIA eSports (April 14, 2022 - 09:00 CEST) 6.30 vs. 1.08
Now let’s take a look at how these two top dogs from Brazil, which are in a constant state of feud and rivalry going as far back as ESL 11 performed in their previous matches:
- FURIA Esports and MIBR progressed to 3-0 on Tuesday, moving on to the first-place tiebreaker in the PGL Major Antwerp: American RMR tournament in Bucharest, Romania.
- MIBR rallied to upset Imperial Esports 2-1 in Round 3 High Matches, whilst FURIA swept Complexity Gaming.
- FURIA beat Complexity 16-7 on Ancient and 16-11 on Vertigo on Tuesday. Rafael "saffee" Costa led the all-Brazilian team with 47 kills and a kills-to-deaths ratio of plus-19. The North Americans were more competitive there, but FURIA's unrelenting aggression was too much for Complexity to handle, and they were defeated 16-11. The Brazilians' head coach, Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira, popped a bottle of sparkling wine in the centre of the hotel shortly after the series ended, and the squad celebrated with famed streamer Alexandre "Gaules" Borba.
- Imperial won the opening map on Inferno 16-12 in a clash of all-Brazilian teams. MIBR, on the other hand, rallied by winning 16-8 on Vertigo and 16-10 on Nuke. MIBR's Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes and Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian both recorded 61 kills, with JOTA posting a game-high plus-13 K-D ratio.
Now Furia and MiBR are both in the top 50 of HLTV’s CS:GO World Ranking.
Our predictions

Furia at #8 and MiBR at #28 now, but don’t let these numbers confuse you. It's fair to say that FURIA has been the best team in their previous three matches but MiBR has also been extremely solid in their games, and performing just as well as FURIA recently.
FURIA has a remarkable +38 round difference and has only lost 28 rounds, 20 of which have come from their past two maps versus Complexity. While there is no denying MiBR's dominance in their three series to date, with a +15 round edge of their own.
The Brazilian guys from MiBR have been on a tear in the previous month finishing in the top two in every tournament and winning the NA Challenger League Season 40 unbeaten with 11 victories and zero defeats in the regular season and playoffs. they also won the ESEA Spring 2022 NA Cash Cup and the PGL Major Antwerp South American Qualifier which secured their entry into this tournament.
MiBR are currently on an 11-series winning streak and have a 75.8 percent victory record over the previous three months heading into this series versus their fellow countryman. MiBR is 3-0 thus far, although they have been involved in a number of close and stretched series.
FURIA may not have the tremendous victory streak or win rate that MiBR does, but this is only due to the quality of Counter-Strike that FURIA has participated in. In the previous three months, FURIA competed in two S-Tier tournaments such as IEM Katowice 2022 and ESL Pro League.
Despite competing in far better tournaments than MiBR, FURIA has had some really strong performances at those competitions. The Brazilians finished 9th – 12th at IEM Katowice and 3rd – 4th in the ESL Pro League which was their most recent tournament.
In esports, what makes a team legend is consistency and Furia has time and again proven themselves in that category. MiBR comes from the same line of Brazilian legends and seem to be on an unstoppable rise with their win streaks. With close odds this match could go either way and easily one of the most important matches of regional RMRs.
