Redeye on Dendi playing for Team Secret: It's Cool. Very cool
The history of Dota 2 has some storied names and there are few more famous than Dendi.
The former star of Na’Vi and winner of the first ever International left the black and gold this summer after a relationship that felt like it spanned decades and seeing the team without him, or Dendi in another colour, is a jarring experience for fans.
However, time waits for no man, and today we are going to be treated to a blast from the past as Dendi reunites with his TI1 team mate Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov in a game against the very team he just left.
At 3pm UTC, 4pm BST Team Secret will take on Na'Vi in the MainCast Autumn Brawl, with Dendi standing in for Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng, who is taking a small break from the game.
As luck would have it, we had a chance to sit down with Virtus.pro’s General Manager Roman Dvoryankin this week, as he joined Redeye and Sujoy on The Luckbox Podcast and, of course, they got to talking about Dendi.
The conversation is certainly an interesting one, as Paul outlines where he sees Dendi going next, and what the steps might be for him to continue his career at the top level.
Whether it be as a support, star of a new team or in some other role, it seems clear Dendi isn’t done with Dota 2 yet, and fans still believe in his ability to operate at the top level of the game. Let us know where you’d like to see him next, and tune in this afternoon to see how the Dendi/Puppey axis functions after all these years apart
