DarkZero Triumphs in Six Charlotte Major

The Rainbow Six: Siege Charlotte Major has concluded after a week of competition. The top teams from around the world vied for a part of the $500,000 prize pool and a slew of qualifying points towards the next Six Invitational and this year's tournament now has a winner,

DarkZero have done it: they overcame No. 1 North American seed Astralis 3-2 in the grand finals of the Charlotte Major.

Many people expected DarkZero to be eliminated in groups when he started the competition. They defied expectations by losing only one game, in overtime, to w7m, and dominating European heavyweights G2 and Heroic 2-0 each.

After a gruelling finals battle, DarkZero Esports took home the trophy and $200,000 of the prize pool after a 3-2 victory against Astralis in a game that saw each team exchange blows and headed into a fifth map.

Border is one of Astralis' playgrounds, and they thrive in it. DarkZero managed to turn the script once more, this time stealing the map from a surprised Astralis. Astralis won Oregon easily, but it appeared that they ran out of steam.

DarkZero arrived on fire on the last map, Bank. They jumped off to a 5-0 lead, but multiple technical glitches slowed their progress. DarkZero was victorious 7-3 after four rounds.

The triumph elevates IGL Troy "Canadian" Jaroslawski to the top of the all-time list. He now owns two SI hammers, a Major championship, and a Pro League Finals championship.

Astralis' Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege roster sure is holding up better than its CS:GO counterpart, yet it still wasn't enough for them to get the victory at the end.

This victory concludes another part of the 2022 Rainbow Six Siege competition season, focusing all attention on the next Major, which will take place in August. Ubisoft has not yet announced where will this next major take place.
