A very familiar name, Virtus.pro is facing the Copenhagen Flames, another team that was able to create a stir this year with their participation in big tournaments. However, it will be a huge upset if Copenhagen Flames manage to get something out of Virtus.pro, as reflected on the betting odds themselves.

OG and Heroic is an even matchup, and their recent history tells us the same story. Both these teams have very important achievements, however they’ve struggled to display stable performances and stay on top. It’s hard to determine a winner here.

ZywOo’s Team Vitality always has the upper hand against teams like MOUZ. Coming from the Play-In, MOUZ first lost against FaZe, but eliminated Entropiq on their way here. Vitality are obviously the favourites here but it’s IEM Katowice and MOUZ has nothing to lose: expect them to surprise you.

While I would love to tell you otherwise, without dev1ce, NIP looks so much weaker. They’ve made it here through the lower bracket of the Play In, and considering their performances at similar competitions, Gambit is too big of a fish for NIP to swallow. Hopefully, Ninjas will get better during the time they had after Play In, so that we could watch a better series than the one that betting odds suggest.

Group B schedule and betting odds

Upper Bracket Round 3

Astralis and FURIA, two teams that managed to create sensation before but aren’t quite the same for a long time now. While Astralis has the upper hand against FURIA with the help of their legendary IGL gla1ve, both these teams might have a hard time when they face the rest of the group.

Coming from the Play In, FaZe is favored by the betting odds against Team Liquid, mainly because it’s been a very long time since TL impressed us. Led by their IGL nitr0, they will look into getting something out of this match, and as FaZe is not perfect either, they do have the chance.

Once a huge name in CS:GO, now they are flailing behind G2 Esports. Fnatic can’t match G2 Esports anymore, although they managed to make a comeback in League of Legends. With NiKo, G2 Esports is one of the favourites here at Katowice, while Fnatic made it to Group Stage through Play In’s lower bracket. Hopefully, Fnatic has prepared some strategies to surprise G2, so that it’s a banger series at least.

Natus Vincere vs ENCE is the last match of the first round. I don’t want to make this one too long, and I won’t even talk about ENCE: because this series is not about them, even if they win. It’s about NAVI, and what they want. NAVI is undoubtedly the best team in the world right now with s1mple being the best player. If they lose, it’s because they lost, not because ENCE won. Expect NAVI to perform even better at Katowice, but still keep your eyes on them. G2 Esports and Team Vitality are looking for an opportunity to execute the coup.
