CDL 2022 Major 1 Aftermath

On March 3-6, OpTic Texas welcomed all 12 Call of Duty League clubs at the Esports Stadium Arlington for the first Major of the 2022 Call of Duty League season. After a series of hard matches OpTic Texas won their own Major and bested the unbreakable Atlanta Faze whilst 150k viewers watched the event unfold live.

Here's a recap of what happened at CDL 2022 Major 1.

CDL Major 1 Grand Finals recap

OpTic Texas eliminated Atlanta FaZe 5-2, claiming first championship at CDL’s first major of the year.

The Grand Finals between OpTic Texas and Atlanta will go down in CoD history. FaZe put on a fantastic performance. OpTic took the lead after a fantastic performance from iLLeY and Shotzzy. In a 6-5 ninja defuse, FaZe would take the Search and Destroy.

OpTic had an amazing Round 5 on Map 3, however they had to retake the last round due to a PC issue for Arcitys. OpTic finally won in the end and came out on top with a 2-1 score.

OpTic would win two of the following three maps to go ahead 4-2, giving them three shots at becoming Major 1’s champions.

OpTic failed spectacularly in Berlin throughout the group stage, but this time they managed to turn their luck which brought OpTic the hard fought and much desired victory for CDL Major 1. It is  their first championship since 2020, spearheaded by Scump and tournament MVP Dashy.
