Get ready for the Brazilian League of Legends as CBLoL 2022 Split 1 is starting. Brazil’s beloved major league, which had an average of 107,000 viewers last year according to Esports Charts, will kick off this weekend to decide which team represents the region at MSI 2022.
Last year, coming from the sixth place of regular season, RED Canids managed to take the championship at CBLOL 2021 Split 2 thus securing the prize money of $13,408. This split, the prize is even better at $17,554 and it is very hard to decide on a favourite because of the surprises we saw last year.
CBLOL 2022 Split 1 is starting
As mentioned above, RED Canids won Split 2 last year, but Split 1 was also an upset, paiN Gaming coming from fifth place and taking down Flamengo, the favourites. CBLOL is always open for such upsets, which led to some fans criticizing their own league because most of the time, the team that they feel is the strongest never represents the region at international events.
Most teams went through changes, but let’s see some important changes: Robo and tinowns play for LOUD, Redbert plays for FURIA, Netshoes Miners, Rensga Esports and KaBuM! e-Sports includes two Koreans in their roster. One of KaBuM!’s Korean imports is Wiz, a familiar name. The most decorated Brazilian player, brTT is an inactive member of the paiN Gaming roster.
While Cruzeiro became Netshoes Miners last year, there are no changes to the teams this year other than Vorax Liberty changing their name to Liberty.
