Buzz has joined Astralis' 2023 roster

Astralis has finalised its 2023 roster with a new addition, with Christian Møss "Buzz" Andersen joining the squad.

Astralis announces 2023 CS:GO roster

The 19-year old player will be joining Astralis to replace Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen, who has been acting as a stand-in player for the team since September. MistR will now return to the Astralis Talent lineup.

Astralis made the announcement via Twitter, thereby confirming a December 19 report from HLTV that Buzz would be joining the team.

The team has apparently been courting Buzz for some time, with a Dust2.dk report claiming that the two parties have been in discussions since October.

According to Astralis coach Peter "casle" Ardenskjold, Buzz is a "dream signing," and he is looking forward to working with the new lineup - alongside its more high-profile recent signing, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz.

"He has some extraordinary qualities, and the deeper we got into the work with the new set-up, the clearer it became to me that Buzz not only has a lot of the energy and attitude we are looking for he also has the qualities to give the team a real boost. I believe Buzz will make a real difference," said casle in a post on the Astralis website.

Buzz is a relative newcomer to the CS:GO scene, having made his debut with Eruption Esports back in 2020. He has moved around a little since then, spending some time with AGF Esport before more recently playing for MASONIC.

For his part, Buzz said that he was "happy and really proud" to be joining the team, having "studied and looked up to the players on the Astralis team for several years."

"When I pulled the red shirt over my head for the first time for our photo shoot, it was a very special feeling, and I knew how much this meant," said Buzz. "Playing with the star on the chest does not get bigger for a Danish CS player, and I will do everything I can to help the team and make the fans proud. There is so much to be proud of in Astralis, but we have lacked the results, and I hope I can help bring them back."

That means Astralis' roster for 2023 consists of Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander, Benjamin "blameF" Bremer, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, Christian Møss "Buzz" Andersen and coach Peter "casle" Toftbo Ardenskjold.
