BLAST Premier World Final 2022: Team Liquid vs G2 Esports grand final predictions
Team Liquid (3.20) vs G2 Esports (1.30)
Team Liquid have shown an absolutely fantastic performance so far. They may have lost to FaZe Clan in the group stage, but they've been storming through the competition ever since. They started out in the playoffs with a promising 2-1 win over Ukrainian team Natus Vincere (NAVI), followed by another 2-1 win against OG - who themselves have surprised their nay-sayers by ranking in 3rd-4th place in their World Final debut. Team Liquid seem to have turned things around in the final hour, after what has been a challenging year for the team. They have no tournament wins to their name so far this year - but that could well be about to change.
G2 meanwhile have repeatedly defied expectations at this year's World Final. They met with defeat in their opening match against FaZe Clan - but apparently that has only encouraged them. G2 not only eliminated Team Vitality from the tournament this week, but also sent both Outsiders and FaZe Clan home - despite coming into both of those matches as the underdog. Their win against FaZe Clan yesterday was particularly dramatic too - taking revenge for their defeat in the group stage through a 2-0 domination against one of the strongest teams in the world. Similar to Team Liquid, G2 are just hours away from potentially getting their hands on their first tournament win of the year.
Both teams have absolutely earned their place at the grand final - but there can be only one winner. The odds are currently in G2's favour here, at 1.30 to Team Liquid's 3.20. But as both teams have repeatedly proven, this year's BLAST Premier World Final has been anything but predictable - with both teams having a real chance of being crowned as this year's champions.
