BLAST has finally released the opening matchups for the BLAST Premier World Final, which is due to kick off from December 14 to December 18.

BLAST Premier World Final opening matches schedule
The BLAST Premier World Final is the last CS:GO event of the year, and will see eight of the best teams in the world facing off to get their hands on the BLAST Premier trophy, alongside their share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
The opening matches were decided by each team's seeding, as determined by the teams ranking each other ahead of the tournament.
As with last month's Fall Finals, the teams have been separated into two groups. During the group stage, they will face off in double-elimination matches - they winners of which will advance directly to the semifinals, while the teams in second and third place will fight for survival in the knockout stage.
The first match of the tournament will take place at 10am GST, and will see Team Liquid face off against current Major champions Outsiders. The match will be the first time that Team Liquid's Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis will play against his former teammates in Outsiders, having previously spent two years at the team under the Virtus.pro name.
Next up is the match between FaZe Clan and G2, taking place at 1pm GST. FaZe Clan are seemingly back on top form after a disappointing showing at the IEM in Rio, and they'll be keen to keep up that energy. They were ultimately denied victory at the Fall Finals by Heroic, but they'll definitely be one to watch this month.
Later on at 4pm GST we'll see Fall Finals champions Heroic take on OG. Heroic are obviously coming into the World Final on a high, having just gotten their hands on the Fall Finals trophy last month. They'll have a new face on the roster too, with former Astralis player Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke joining as a stand-in for Martin “stavn” Lund.
And finally we'll see Ukrainian superstars Natus Vincere (NAVI) going up against Team Vitality. Despite coming in a disapppointing 5th-6th place during the Fall Finals, NAVI are absolutely a favourite coming into the tournament. Not only are they ranked second on the BLAST Premier World Leaderboard (behind FaZe Clan), but they have won every single BLAST Premier World Final since the event's inception.
The groups for the BLAST Premier World Finals are as follows:
Group A | Group B |
---|---|
Team Liquid | Heroic |
Outsiders | OG |
FaZe Clan | Natus Vincere |
G2 | Vitality |
As the last event of the year, the BLAST Premier World Final is bound to showcase professional CS:GO play at its absolute best. Last month's Fall Finals were full of surprise wins and intense moments, and this month is likely to be no different.
