AS Monaco Gambit is ready for DPC 2021-22

AS Monaco Gambit have been trying to find success they used to have for a long time, and will try to achieve their goals in the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit 2021-22.

AS Monaco Gambit roster changes

AS Monaco Gambit were eliminated early from The International 2021: Eastern Europe Qualifiers. The players in the eliminated roster were dream`, Lorenof, AfterLife, Immersion and eine.

Dream`, who did not win any championships with his team, but placed third in ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore and second in ESL One Hamburg 2019 and EPIC League Season 2 Division 2, became inactive on the roster on July 15. The 21-year-old left the team in September 2021 and joined HYDRA.

It was announced that AfterLife, who won the WePlay! Dota 2 Valentine Madness and WePlay! Dota 2 Winter Madness championships with AS Monaco Gambit, moved to Gambit-2 on November 20.

Eine, who had his heyday at VP.Prodigy, left Gambit in July 2021 and currently has no team.

Immersion and Lorenof are still on the roster, three new players joined in November.

Let's focus on alberkaaa first. Albert "alberkaaa" Chernoivanov, a rising star in Dota 2 esports, won the M.Game Core Cup championship with VP.Prodigy, where he played for 4 months.

Andrei "meLes" Romanov, who previously played for Gambit, rejoins the roster. He played for PuckChamp for nearly a year. There he won  EPIC League Season 3 Division 2 and ESL One CIS Online Season 1: Lower Division titles. Unfortunately with Gambit, he did not win any championships.

Belarusian Sergey "HappyDyurara" Horonzhiy is another player we’ll be focusing on. Although the newly joined support player has achieved many successes in Tier 2 and 3 tournaments, it is yet to be seen if he can be successful in bigger tournaments with AS Monaco Gambit.

Current roster of AS Monaco Gambit

  • Albert "alberkaaa" Chernoivanov
  • Artem "Lorenof" Melnick
  • Andrei "meLes" Romanov
  • Aleksandr "Immersion" Khmelevskoi
  • Sergey "HappyDyurara" Horonzhiy

Gambit's DPC performances in the last three years

Gambitdid not win any championships in DPC tournaments in 2018-19. Due to dismal performance, they ranked 13th, and they lost the ticket to The International 2019 to Keen Gaming.

In Dota Pro Circuit 2019-2020, they got the most points by qualifying for the quarterfinals of the MDL Chengdu Major and placed 14th in the standings.

In DPC 2021, the last Dota Pro Circuit, they fared even poorly. Reaching third place in ESL One CIS Online Season 1: Upper Division and ESL One DPC Eastern Europe Season 2: Upper Division, the team performed far below expectations in both majors.

What has AS Monaco Gambit achieved so far?

Gambit, which created their first Dota 2 roster in 2017, have not lived up to expectations so far. Among their greatest achievements are the WePlay Dota 2 Valentine Madness and WePlay Dota 2 Winter Madness titles. They also finished second at the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore final, losing to Vici Gaming. With their new roster, AS Monaco Gambit is ready to take their chances again in Dota Pro Circuit 2021-22.
