LPL’s regular season is on the run with three teams already locked in for the playoffs. Three weeks and five matches are left before everything comes to an end. With their incredible performance so far, JD Gaming, Top Esports and Victory Five are the teams that have secured spots in the playoffs. They will work hard to get to the top two and a more advantageous spot.
MSI 2022 champion RNG, Weibo and Worlds 2021 champion EDG follow these three closely and they are about to secure competing in playoffs as well. Stuck at the bottom, Team WE, LGD Gaming, Rare Atom, Invictus Gaming and Ultra Prime don't look like they are going to make it. One of the favourites, Bilibili Gaming also looks in trouble. They will have to improve their performance significantly to make it.
LPL Week 7 recap
Team WE couldn’t stop their poor form with ten losses against Anyone’s Legend. Betty played incredibly to secure his team the 2-0 victory. JD Gaming dropped one game against Invictus Gaming but managed to win the series thanks to Hope being on his day, 24-4-17 throughout the series. ThunderTalk Gaming took down Oh My God 2-1, pushing for a playoffs spot while bringing down one of their rivals.
LNG Esports found a fast 2-0 against Ultra Prime with 21-6 and 18-7 wins over them, DoinB and Light were on fire. Top Esports crushed Rare Atom, killing iBoy’s hopes of making playoffs. Bilibili Gaming tried to turn around their poor form against RNG but GALA’s 15-1-7 performance throughout the series secured a 2-0 victory for the MSI 2022 champions.
Summit’s positive effect on FPX continued against Anyone’s Legend. Although he was 1-5-1 against Zdz’s 6-0-10 Camille during the second game, he had a total KDA of 9-1-12 during the wins and together with Care and Lwx, they secured the 2-1 victory for their team. EDG took down the weak LGD Gaming side 2-0 following a superb performance from Scout and Viper.
TheShy’s Weibo Gaming struggled against ThunderTalk Gaming but managed to secure the 2-1 victory thanks to a 9-1-8 Kennen performance from the superstar. Following that, Victory Five showed why they are the favourites of LPL against LNG Esports, winning two chaotic games to take the series 2-0.
Invictus Gaming faced Team WE in a match between the two bottom teams of the table. It was a fun series where iG managed to take the victory 2-1. xiye’s performance wasn’t enough for WE to secure a second win. Bilibili Gaming managed to steal one away from JDG but the league leaders finished the job in the third game with 2-1.
Another three-game long series was played between RNG and EDG that day. The first two games were stomps by RNG (24-6) and EDG (21-4) respectively. An incredible match was on display the third game, but EDG lost the game where they were ahead in gold and in score 19-12. Top Esports defeated Ultra Prime 2-0 on Sunday and Weibo Gaming followed with another 2-0 over OMG to finish the day.

The first few matches of week 8 are already over: RNG defeated Rare Atom 2-0 confidently, and ThunderTalk managed to upset the improving FunPlus Phoenix side. Both teams are in the race for the playoffs currently.
