The European League of Legends competition LEC 2022 Summer kicked off with its first super week last weekend. All teams played their first three matches and proved their strength. There are still seven weeks until the end of the regular season, but a good start will definitely affect their chances to reach the playoffs.

The only team to come out of the super week with 3-0 was LEC 2022 Spring champions and MSI 2022 semi-finalists G2 Esports. In contrast, two teams had the worst start of all as Misfits Gaming and Team BDS lost all three games in the first week. With both teams having strong opponents in the second week, it will be even harder for them to make up for their poor start.
First week recap
LEC 2022 Summer started with Team Vitality against MAD Lions, with VIT showing up with their new jungler Haru and MAD with their new mid laner Nisqy. Unfortunately for Vitality, the 2021 champions MAD Lions looked amazing and demolished them 12-3. After that, SK Gaming defeated Team BDS, after pulling off an incredible comeback by stopping NUCLEARINT's 6-1-4 Akali.
Excel Esports faced Misfits Gaming, one of the surprise teams of last season. XL, however, proved too strong for the MSF side, and secured the win 15-0 in 26 minutes. G2 Esports had no problems against Astralis with a strong performance from Jankos and Fnatic surprised Rogue with Upset's 9-1-7 Draven to close the first day.
Astralis took on Team BDS the next day and to everyone's surprise, Astralis is even better than Team BDS this year, defeating them 12-4 in 31 minutes. MAD Lions continued their incredible performance against SK Gaming. UNFORGIVEN was on fire for the second time this week with his 6-0-7 Zeri.
Team Vitality defeated Misfits Gaming in the following game. Vetheo, one of last season's promising mid laners, performed poorly while Perkz and Haru flourished. The Croatian mid laner scored 8-2-11 on Corki and Haru played with him to get the win. XL also looked incredible against Fnatic, Nukeduck's 6-0-9 Lissandra and Patrik's 8-0-6 Kalista could not be stopped by FNC.
To end the day, G2 Esports played Rogue. G2 outplayed their opponents and took the win, while Broken Blade and caPs played the Yone-Yasuo brothers. 20-7 in 26 minutes was not something we expected, especially from Rogue.
The last day of the week started with Astralis against Misfits and we were surprised to see that Astralis could outclass Misfits as well. Irrelevant and Vetheo had one of their worst days while Xerxe and Kobbe helped their team to victory in 32 minutes. It was sloppy, but it was better than what we saw from Astralis last season. Vitality made a comeback against Team BDS, Agresivoo was 7-0-4 and he has not the faintest idea how they lost that game.
Fnatic faced SK Gaming and managed an easy win against the latter, while Humanoid and Upset played flawlessly. G2 Esports ended XL's great start, Finn was 0-8-1 on Gwen, while BB put on another great show. The last game was another comeback, MAD Lions demolished Rogue, but a bad team fight led to Rogue finishing the game and taking the win.

Even though they botched the last game against Rogue, the first week was incredible for MAD Lions. They will face two important challenges this week, and if they manage another 2-0, they have a good chance of making the playoffs. G2 Esports will have a rather quiet weekend, while their opponents in the championship race will have strong opponents.
