The second T1 vs Gen.G match is coming up as LCK enters its seventh week of the season. Teams are slowly strengthening their positions in the playoffs race, with the top two teams officially locking a place after the results of the sixth week. T1 and Gen.G, the two 11-1 teams of LCK will participate in the playoffs.

DWG KIA, Liiv SANDBOX, kt Rolster and DRX are a few wins away from doing exactly that. Hanwha Life and Fredit BRION lost their chances a long time ago, but NS RedForce and Kwangdong Freecs heavily underperformed, making Liiv SANDBOX and kt Rolster prime candidates for playoffs.
LCK Week 6 recap
Surprisingly, Fredit BRION started by winning the first game of the series against DRX convincingly, 11-1 in 32 minutes. However, DRX completed the reverse sweep after two solid victories. Following that, DWG KIA crushed the underperforming NS RedForce side, sending them further away from the playoffs race.
Kwangdong Freecs, the only team that was able to defeat T1 in the LCK this season, started with a 17-4 win over them and made us wonder if they could repeat such a feat. T1 played the next two games dominantly to secure the 2-1. kt Rolster easily took the 2-0 win over Hanwha Life to close the day.
Liiv SANDBOX has an incredible form, but Gen.G showed that they still aren’t championship material. Even though LSB found solid victories against other teams, GEN got the 2-0 win, winning the first game while LSB was ahead 18-14. Moreover, Clozer was 4-0-10 on Ahri and Prince was 8-2-6 on Aphelios. Although they were performing poorly recently, DRX managed to take down DWG KIA a second time this season in a series where all three games ended incredibly quickly.
Fredit BRION faced T1 on the first game of the weekend and they started with a win as well. However, they couldn’t stop the T1 comeback where Zeus was 10-0-4 on Gangplank in the third game. kt Rolster managed to stop NS RedForce from rising back up in a series where Bdd had his first pentakill in his career. With this loss, it seems impossible for NS to make playoffs.
Liiv SANDBOX found another confident victory over Kwangdong Freecs, taking them down with a perfect series from Clozer: 10-0-5 on Akali and 6-0-3 on Sylas. Gen.G closed the week with a 2-0 victory over Hanwha Life. After a 19-2 first game, HLE tried to answer in the second one and the score was 10-7 but it ended quicker in favour of Gen.G.

The seventh week of LCK seems especially important for Gen.G. They will first face DRX where they will be the favourites against a formidable opponent, and then face T1 on Saturday where they will clash for first place. While both T1 and Gen.G looked perfect all 2022 long, T1 will probably be one step ahead, considering their spring championship and win over Gen.G in the fourth week.
DWG KIA should have a comfortable week, and although they face kt Rolster, they will enter the Rift as the favourites. Liiv SANDBOX should easily take down NS RedForce to face DRX with the intention of widening the gap between the two teams in the playoffs race. Finally, Kwangdong Freecs will face the bottom of the league to secure a 2-0 week and increase their chances of making the playoffs.
