The Brazilian CBLOL 2022 Split 2 kicked off last week with their opening matches. FURIA Esports and RED Canids finished the first week 2-0 and started with a good lead, while Flamengo Los Grandes and Rensga Esports were stuck at the bottom of the table with two defeats.
Let's take a look at the matches and the schedule for the second week.
FURIA Esports defeated one of last season's championship contenders, KaBuM! e-Sports, while RED Canids defeated paiN Gaming. They are likely to face each other at the end of the season, so these are two valuable early wins for these teams. To prevent the first week from being a total washout, both KBM and PNG won their matches on the second day.
CBLOL Week 1 matches
The first week started with the rematch of the grand final of Split 1: paiN Gaming vs RED Canids. The RED Canids were once again superior to PNG, defeating their opponent despite Trigo having a fed Kalista on his hands. Aegis played an 8-2-13 Trundle while Grevthar played 8-1-12 on Taliyah. INTZ followed with a very strong performance against Rensga Esports, winning every lane and finishing the match in 35 minutes.
Liberty's Lucian - Nami picks gave them a solid win against Miners, Krastyel not letting Lissandra counter stop his Ahri with a 3-0-12 performance. FURIA Esports brought in some of the best champions in the meta against KBM, Olaf, Viego, Ahri and Xayah to lead them to a quick 25-minute win. To end the day, LOUD defeated Flamengo Los Grandes 20-10 in 37 minutes.
The first match of the second day was FURIA Esports against Liberty. It was a fairly quiet game with a total of 12 kills, but FURIA managed to get the victory with their Kog'Maw - Lulu.
KBM took on the weak Flamengo team and defeated them with a great DudsTheBoy Senna. He led his team 5-1-9 and gave KBM the 32-minute win. The Miners then faced INTZ and it was truly a messy game. Miners' duo of Viego - Galio worked wonderfully and found fights everywhere, but honestly those fights were sloppy. In the end it took Miners 38 minutes to get the 23-15 win.
LOUD against paiN Gaming was the fourth match of the day. Wizer got Kayle, one of the best champions in the meta right now. His 6-2-7 AD Kayle saved his team from an 0-2 week. To close out the week, RED Canids took on Rensga Esports. Mocha's Renata Glasc kept Rensga in the game for 29 minutes, but it was not enough as Rensga was outplayed in every way by RED Canids.
